Description:
At Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking we need more safe, experienced drivers to meet the needs of our customers. Crete, Shaffer, and Hunt drivers are paid based on practical miles. This means drivers are paid for 3-5 percent more total miles per year than companies that pay based on short route miles. Another added incentive is that those practical miles roll in faster now that we’ve recently raised our governed truck speed to 68 MPH on the cruise and 65 MPH on the pedal.
We also offer comprehensive and affordable health insurance, matching 401k and a profit-sharing plan that contributed $11 million in 2024 and more than $91.5 million to employee retirement accounts since 2018.
*Pay: Combination of pay structures. Average $53,000 to $78,000 per year. The company does not disclose the pay range until an application has been submitted. Final compensation will be determined after the application is reviewed.
Requirements:
- Valid Class A CDL
- 1 year tractor-trailer experience
- No preventable accidents or CDL moving violations in the past year
- No DUI or DWI convictions in past 5 years
- No positive drug screens or events in past 5 years
- Minimum age of 22
- Hunt Transportation drivers must either possess a TWIC card or be eligible to obtain one – Hunt Transportation will cover 100% of the cost of all new and renewed TWICs
